For information on accommodations and attractions in the Rolla area please see the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce web site.
A unique attraction in the Phelps County area is the Maramec Spring Park just south of St. James. Once the site of an iron works and foundry, it is particularly interesting is to see how the remnants of the old iron works have been adapted into a trout hatchery. The newly refurbished museum is also very interesting and tells the story of the Rolla - St. James area during the frontier days. If you are interested in doing some mountain biking while in the area, pick up a map of the Kaintuck Hollow (also referred to as the Mill Creek area) trails at either the Mark Twain National Forest headquarters (just down the street from the start of the ride) or at Route 66 Bicycles, in downtown Rolla. |
